Production art from Kodocha/Kodomo no Omocha (Child's Toy) "Kodocha," which is shortened from "Kodomo no Omocha," was an old-school animation series from the '90s that lasted a few seasons, but cels have been rather uncommon in the market. At first blush, this is your typical girl-meets-boy-and-at-first-hates-him story, but its charm is that it covers both ends of the spectrum in presentation—serious topics like child neglect and ridiculous topics like being a hyperactive child star. It's based on the manga of the same name, which was briefly translated and published in the United States before the import company lost the license only a few years after publishing the last volume, leaving all the books out of print. Moreover, the company responsible for importing the anime to the States could not get complete rights (music, specifically), and the overall sales for season one weren't good enough to support licensing the rest. This means that the series is very hard or impossible to find here.
